The airport has a “5 kilometer free shuttle” that runs between the airport terminal and the city center. The trip takes about 20 minutes and costs 1 Georgian lari.
This is a reply to # 2, but also a continuation of my thoughts on the article.
The first thing that bothers me is the language. First of all, the article is filled with guestimates and approximations - something that shouldn’t be done if the author is trying to appear impartial.Secondly, the article seems to be biased in favor of the author’s suggestion - something that could be perceived as dishonest if not done very carefully. Finally, the phrase “the people in Georgia” (”khaliuri”) is problematic because the article makes an assumption about who the “people in Georgia” are (i.e. they are Georgians who support the idea of a visa-free travel with Russia). I’m not sure what the Times’ editorial policy is regarding evaluating articles by anonymous contributors, but I would think that it would be a good idea to ask for at least some clarification on this point.
